All Damascus seen on this page was hand-forged by Gene Osborn.

Due to the large number of blades, billets and blanks available, the page has been split. You can view the billets and blanks here and the nickel and striped blades here.

We offer two types of billets in our cable (wire rope) damascus– rough billets and ground billets.

· Rough billets are forged to shape and fully annealed for ease of working.

· Ground billets are forged oversized and ground down to dimension. (annealed)

We have regular cable damascus billets. (made from 1084 and 1095 high carbon tool steels), composite billets (made in layers), and bronze cable damascus available for guards and bolsters.

Blanks are forged to shape from cable damascus billets. They are fully annealed (made soft) for ease of working, and will need heat-treating before assembly. The grain pattern of a forged blade flows with the shape and cannot be duplicated by simply grinding a blank from a billet. Blanks can be filed or ground, hand finished and sent for heat-treating (another service provided). Once back from heat-treating, they can be assembled and polished.

· Blades are hand forged, ground to shape, hand sanded, heat-treated, etched, and are ready to assemble and polish.
